Job Summary

The Systems Administrator Reports to the Director of IT and plays a critical role in helping the agency support and maintain our existing infrastructure, problem solve IT challenges and move forward with the automation of processes and achieving efficiencies. A successful candidate must be able to perform server deployments, troubleshoot network or firewall issues, support our staff to solve technical issues and manage IT related projects seeing them through to completion.

Pay: $80,225.60 – $97,073.60 per year

Network Engineer

Netgain is a cloud-managed services provider that services the Healthcare, Accounting, and Legal verticals. Netgain manages the entire IT infrastructure for firms in these industries, providing a fully managed IT-as-a-service offering. The Legal business operates under a separate brand called Afinety and came via acquisition. In a highly competitive market, Netgain stands out in its strong industry focus, deep technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to an exceptional client experience.

The Network Engineer is responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support to our customers. This includes supporting and maintaining the network infrastructure for our hosted clients’ environments in Netgain cloud (Azure) and colo data centers as well as remote management of network resources for our Managed Services clients. The successful candidate will possess strong troubleshooting and customer service skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. This is a full-time, FSLA exempt, salaried position.

Essential Functions:

· Maintain and support Netgain and customer Local Area (LAN) and Wide Area (WAN) networks including those within Netgain’s data centers and connectivity to public cloud environments.

· Maximize network reliability by monitoring logs, evaluating network connectivity requests, scheduling upgrades, and performing analysis to identify issues before they impact service.

· Create and update network diagrams, documentation, and procedures as needed.

· Complete client requests for assistance with hosted or managed resources.

· Script, automate and orchestrate provisioning and maintenance processes using DevOps tools and technologies.

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by Netgain’s monitoring systems and submitted through the ticketing system. Fully document issues, actions taken, and steps for resolution.

· Initiate escalation process working with other teams, partners, and vendors as appropriate while communicating progress and resolution to clients.

· Work with other teams for troubleshooting, problem resolution, and to minimize escalations.

· Manage small projects such as equipment installations and replacements.

· Suggest innovative and creative new ideas and ways of improving processes.

· Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation and occasional after-hours work if needed.

Experience Required:

· 3-5 years of enterprise level network experience.

· Deployment and supporting Cisco/Meraki routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless networks.

· Experience supporting Juniper firewalls and switches preferred.

· Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls preferred.

· Experience deploying and troubleshooting P2P VPNs using Cisco ASA and Azure VPNs.

· Configuration of virtual IPs and server farms using network load balancers.

· Demonstrated experience with server-based networking technologies (DNS, RADIUS, DHCP, etc.).

· Firm understanding and deployment of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and static routing.

· Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.

· Ability to utilize and understand packet captures using Wireshark.

· Microsoft Azure knowledge preferred.

· Ability to communicate highly technical information to clients in non-technical language.

· Operational understanding of regulatory compliance, including, but not limited to: HIPAA, HI-TECH, and PCI-DSS.

· Certifications such as CCNA, AZ-900, Meraki Solutions Specialist , Palo Alto Security Administrator preferred.
